About Me

My name is Pavel and i'm currently trying to get my CompTIA A+ certificate to eventually become a network engineer. My current position is a semi-truck fueler but I previoustly ran a CNC laser cutter (CO2 and Fiber) for 4 years, including designing, modeling and cutting my own parts as well as writing and editing GCode programs. I choose to leave that position to continue to pursue a career in the tech field. My current projects include running a self hosted NAS, website using NGINX, and home router using OpenWRT; On the other side I'm trying to get my DNS setup with DDNS and looking into a good firewall solution.

Modern, Press Brake, CNC Flat Laser Cutter • March 2010 - Present

I originally got hired to run the modern(lathe). After some time I got moved to the flat laser cutter where I spent the majority of my time. I ensured the parts were being cut to specification/tolerance and had a good cut quality, while maintaining the highest rate of travel. I also designed and cut out a few parts for the maintainence dept. and for the press brake are, as well as a name plaque for myself. The last few weeks working here I spent running the press brake becasue of a scheduling conflict.

Kooima Company

Flat Laser Tech, OTTO operator• March 2027 - February 2010

After Seats Inc. I went to Kooima company to pursue a career in the CNC (Flat Laser) world. My time here was mainly spent refining my skills and learning about the fiber laser. I ensured adequite cut quality and speed, as well as cheking ID/OD when applicable. Eventually I was asked to run the OTTO's (autonomous robot) when we started implementing them on nights, which required constant supervision as well as learning how to run/fix them when they went down, which was all the time (as we just started implementing them before I left). I was also acting supervision when the main manager was absent.

Skills

My skills include experience in writing/editing GCode. I also have some C++ and Python experience but it's very limited. I am also proficient in 3D Modeling using both SolidWorks and Blender. Photoshop and Illustrator experience is included. My other hobbies and talents include working on cars, mainly focusing on diagnosing.
